Philosophy
Allison’ mission is to provide a safe non judgmental space to help clients identify their own strengths, qualities, motivation, and resiliency and empower them to use these to live a more authentic and fulfilling life.
Leaning on her experience from the field of teaching, Allison’s mission is to empower and nurture individuals’ discovery of their own strengths, abilities, and resiliency as they work to foster new narratives, that inspire hope as they move toward living meaningful and happy lives. Allison believes in a holistic approach to therapy, one that includes understanding the mind-body connection and works to meet the physical and mental wellness needs of clients on their journey toward self growth and fulfillment.
Education
Allison grew up in the South Bay and received her BA in Psychology at Santa Clara University, her Master’s and Teaching Credential from Mount Saint Mary’s University, and her Master’s in Marital Family Therapy from Alliant International University, California School of Professional Psychology.
Experience
Allison is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and began her clinical career at a community mental health agency working with children, adolescents, and their families in Los Angeles County. She provided school-based services to children and adolescents who were struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, developmental issues, peer and family issues, and grief/loss. Before becoming an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, Allison worked as a Teacher for thirteen years serving diverse communities throughout Los Angeles County and the San Fernando Valley.
In addition to her work at Breathe Center, Allison works as a school based therapist, helping adolescents cope with the challenges associated with navigating high school, from academic stress to peer/family relationships, personal development, behavioral issues, adjustments/transitions, and identity.
