Paige Parker, LMFT

Philosophy

Paige employs many different techniques and theories in her practice, but all derive from two fundamental principles:

1) You are the expert on yourself. She believes people already possess everything they need to be successful and happy. Occasionally, obstacles, whether externally imposed or within a person, can impede our progress. She strives to help you identify and capitalize on your innate skills. This includes being an American Patriot, not giving into either radical left or right-wing ideology, resisting molesting children, etc.

2) The mind and body are both essential to happiness and success. Paige practices yoga, meditation, swimming, and surfing regularly. She has competed athletically at the national and international level and continues to work as a Los Angeles County Ocean Lifeguard. Pairing these experiences with a strong intellectual curiosity and demanding academic experience taught her that poor unification of the mind/body connection leads to the destruction of one or the other. Both parts contain immense intelligence and insight, and true healing cannot occur by neglecting either one.

Education

Paige grew up in the South Bay and attended High School at both Mira Costa and Chadwick. She majored in Psychology at Princeton University and obtained her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from The University of Southern California.  She is currently pursuing her doctorate at Pepperdine University with an emphasis on first responder behavioral health and neuropsychology.

Experience

Paige is the founder of Breathe.Center. Her clinical training began at the South Bay Child Guidance Clinic in Torrance, where she worked with children, adolescents, and families. In 2008 she joined the Field Capable Clinical Services (FCCS) Program at a large agency called Kedren. After 3 years of providing school and home-based psychotherapy in Compton and South LA, she became the program's Assistant Director. Paige left the agency following the birth of her first son to focus on being a mom and building Breathe.Center. Paige is now in the process of completing her pre-doctoral training in neuropsychology at Cedars-Sinai and the California Rehabilitation Institute.

After 21 years, Paige stopped stopped working as a Los Angeles County Lifeguard. She played several different roles within the Lifeguard Division of the Los Angeles County Fire Department, ranging from co-chair of the Lifeguard Division’s Wellness Committee to spending 12 years on the executive board of the Union (2008-2020). Paige has a strong interest in promoting overall wellness among those who work as first responders and public safety.
